He was shot to death by robbers in the US mid western state of Indiana. The news was sent to their family and everyone were shell shocked. Kushpinder's father Satpal was an ex-serviceman and he told that his son just opened the store and two black assailants opened fire on him.

This has lead to immediate death and they have looted the shop. Khushpinder went to US in 2010 after completing his studies and he was seeking better opportunities after school.

Regarding this murder, Khushpinder Singh's father Satpal said, "He had opened a department store in the US in partnership with another Indian-origin man and had never reported any enmity with anyone. The robbers were just keen on looting the shop and their only motive was to rob the shop."
