Kollywood film action stars lose in assembly election.

Even though politics and the movie world are well connected in Tamil Nadu, the film action heroes who had appeared to have lost out this time around in the state assembly polls.


The actor who has turned politician leader of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi R. Sarathkumar has lost in Tiruchendur constituency against his DMK rival Anitha R. Radhakrishnan. He was contesting under the ‘two leaves’ symbol of AIADMK, Sarathkumar secured only 62,356 votes against Radhakrishnan who claimed victory with 88,357 votes.


Even at Ulundurpettai, another actor who has turned politician and DMDK leader A. Vijayakanth has come in third polling 26,950 votes and trailing far behind the candidates from AIADMK by 63,906 votes and DMK by 57,850 votes.


The DMK nominee Vagai Chandrasekar who has played supportive roles in Tamil movies and Chandrasekar has led in Velachery constituency in Chennai against his AIADMK rival C. Munusamy by 8,100 votes.
