The kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is set to release in theatres on february 27. Despite its intense and controversial subject matter, the film has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the board cleared the film only after directing 16 cuts and modifications. Here are the key changes made before certification:
The lip-lock scene has been shortened by 50%, with 7 seconds removed.
The rape scene visuals have also been reduced by 50%, cutting approximately 20 seconds.
A scene showing a woman being slapped has been trimmed by 2 seconds.
Another scene where a woman is hit on the head has also been reduced by 2 seconds.
The visuals depicting the accused’s house being demolished by a bulldozer have been asked to be altered.
Three lines of dialogue have been modified at different points in the film.
One word has been muted.
