Jr NTR’s highly anticipated film Devara has already made significant waves in the box office before its official release. According to recent reports by the Economic Times, the film has achieved a remarkable feat in North America. With over 32,000 tickets sold, Devara has become the fastest indian film to reach the $1.2 million mark (more than Rs 8 crore) in pre-sales.
These impressive numbers come from 276 locations across the United States, with the film earning $85,000 on its opening day alone. This early success highlights the film’s immense anticipation and strong international appeal.

Devara, directed by koratala siva, is set in coastal regions and marks Jr NTR’s 30th film. In this highly awaited movie, jr ntr plays dual roles, portraying both a father and a son. The film also features Janhvi Kapoor, making her debut in South indian cinema and marking her first collaboration with Jr NTR. saif ali khan is set to play a pivotal role, while ramya krishna will also be part of the cast.
Much like the blockbuster RRR, Devara is expected to feature high-octane action sequences that promise to captivate audiences. The film reportedly had a substantial budget, with Rs 140 crore allocated specifically for its visual effects (VFX).
At the recent trailer launch event, jr ntr expressed his nervousness about the film, especially since this is his solo release following the success of RRR, which was a collaborative project with ram Charan. “I am very nervous because this is my next film after RRR. It was with my co-actor ram Charan but this is my solo release after six years so there is a lot of nervousness which is building but very happy to launch the trailer of Devara in the city of Mumbai,” he said.
Devara has been awarded a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in india and is scheduled to hit theaters on september 27, 2024.
