Netflix's series 'IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack' has been in a lot of controversies in the past. The entire controversy regarding this series based on the Kandahar plane hijacking incident of 1999 was about the names of the characters of the hijackers shown in it. Not only did the audience get angry about this, but the central government also objected and the IB summoned the content head of Netflix. A petition was also filed to ban the series. However, after the protest, the disclaimer of the series has been changed and the real names of the terrorists who hijacked the plane have been added. After this, the petition demanding a ban on the series has also been withdrawn from the delhi High Court.

According to news agency ANI, 'The PIL seeking directions to ban Netflix's series 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack' has been withdrawn from the delhi High Court. The petitioner said through the lawyer that adding a disclaimer by Netflix clarifying the real names of the terrorists involved in the hijacking addresses the concerns raised in the PIL'.

But, the sentiments of the audience were hurt by the names of the terrorists who hijacked the plane, after which there was a lot of controversy over it.


Netflix had issued a statement


It is known that on Tuesday, September 3, Netflix issued a statement and talked about changing the disclaimer of 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack'. They have also added the real names of the hijackers who hijacked the plane. In fact, after the uproar over the series, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a summons on September 2. It was sent to the content head of Netflix India. On Tuesday, Netflix head monica Shergill appeared before the officials of the ministry.
