Kamal Haasan explains why he signed kalki 2898AD...

One of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year is Nag Ashwin's kalki 2898 AD. In the science fiction masterpiece, which also stars prabhas, deepika Padukone, amitabh bachchan, and Disha Patani, kamal haasan plays Yaskin. During the pre-release event in Mumbai, Kamal was questioned recently on the lengthy casting procedure and the reason behind his prolonged decision to accept the project.

What did Kamal mention?

When Kamal Haasan's casting was brought up in the interview, prabhas said, "I was thinking, 'Why will he do it? Avoid torturing him. Simply depart. At last, kamal haasan responded, saying, "It's not a question of torture." Self-doubt arises, you realize. This is what he has done (pointing to prabhas and Amitabh). What action will I take? That was the cause. It's not like I've never played a villain before. Psychopaths and all that, even as the main antagonist. However, this is not the same. The interview video first appeared on X.

More information

In the post-apocalyptic universe of kalki 2898 AD, amitabh bachchan plays the immortal Ashwatthama, while prabhas plays the Hindu god Vishnu's avatar, Bhairava. Kamal had said to reporters at the pre-release ceremony last week, "This get-up took a long time." We made our way to L.A. Before we finally arrived at the director's initial acceptable look, we failed a few times. I anticipate that the audience will respond in the same manner as we did when first seeing the look."

The movie had its debut at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in 2023, becoming the first-ever indian film to do so. A teaser for the post-apocalyptic movie, which is based on Hindu texts and takes place in the year 2898 AD, was released a few days ago. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on june 27. The telangana government has authorized more performances and increased ticket rates for the first eight days of the event's distribution in the state.
