Kriti said, “There was a time when I used to be very restless because I knew that I was not able to showcase my acting potential that much with the opportunities I was getting. I wanted to do something by which I could prove my ability as an actress. I always say that as an actor, the bigger the pot you get, the more you can fill it. If you are given a small vessel then you can fill only that much water. If you are given a bigger one, you can fill more. So I was looking for that big pot for a very long time."

She further added, “I was getting frustrated because I knew what I was capable of doing. I knew I could do better work, but I didn't have any such project at that time. Kriti further said, "That was a period when I wanted something more. Then Mimi came to me. I believe that everything happens at the right time. There's a reason for that. I think maybe Mimi came to me when I was ready to do justice to the role. Maybe that's why no such film came to me before."
