Pankaj Udhas: Ghajal singer Pankaj Udhas passed away yesterday on february 26 after suffering from health problems for some time. This news was confirmed by his daughter Nayab Udas.


Who is this Pankaj Udas?


Pankaj Udas is one of the best singers in the hindi film industry who has sung numerous songs and has captivated people's hearts. Born in Jeddpur, Gujarat, Pankaj was the youngest of three brothers. His parents are Kesubhai Udhas and Jituben Udhas. Pankaj's elder brother Manhar Udas is an accomplished hindi playback singer in bollywood films.


Similarly, Pankaj's second brother is also a ghazal singer. Pankaj studied at St. Xavier's college in mumbai when his family moved to mumbai from Gujarat. After that, Pankaj Udas started singing songs on stage along with his younger brother, then they would give him 51 rupees as a reward.


Pankaj Udas, who made his debut in the film industry in 1970 with a film starring famous bollywood actor dharmendra and actress hema Malini, has sung hundreds of songs in the bollywood world. It is noteworthy that till last year 2018, he has staged theater and ghazal concerts.


Awarded the padma shri by late President Aiya Abdul Kalam, Pankaj has received hundreds of awards in his 46-year musical journey. In 1994, he was also awarded honorary citizenship of Lubbock, Texas, USA. He had been suffering from ill health for some time and passed away today on 26th February.
