Aditya Dhar: 'Nobody wanted to cast Vicky in 'Uri', people called it a mistake', reveals Aditya

Director Aditya Dhar is making headlines these days. These days Aditya is busy promoting the film 'Article 370' made under his production house. His wife yami gautam plays an important role in this film. At the same time, this film has not been directed by Aditya but by suhas Jambhale. Aditya recently talked about his casting decisions during an interview and revealed how he was adamant about casting vicky kaushal in 'Uri' even when everyone was against it.

Recently, during an interview, Aditya Dhar talked about his concept of anti-casting. In this, you go against the industry norms while casting for your films. He said that everyone told him and producer Ronnie Screwvala that casting vicky kaushal for a film like 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' was a big mistake. However, he remained firm on his decision.

Aditya said, “At that time everyone went to Ronnie and said that you are making a big mistake, you are making a war film with a skinny guy. We believed that we were all working towards making something different and we worked 10 times harder than anyone else in this industry. We wanted to prove to them that this is not where you are coming from. Your acting is what makes you different and successful.

The director said that his company believes in respecting the script and then taking it to the lead. Aditya also talked about his upcoming action comedy film, starring yami gautam and Prateik gandhi in the lead roles. He said, 'When you look at Prateek gandhi, you will say, 'Why didn't we think of him like this?'. That's the fun of anti-casting and I think it also comes from that whole background and that whole thought process.

Talking about Yami Gautam's film, 'Article 370' is a high-octane, action political drama that revolves around ending terrorism in kashmir by making 'Article 370' ineffective.
