The director of Paatal Lok faced everything from depression

Famous cinematographer and film director, avinash Arun recently recalled his days of struggle. He revealed how

he went into depression during his career. avinash told how he is still learning to adjust in this industry. He said

that the altitude here is very high and the low level is very low and years of experience are required to deal with

both.

When the success of Qila made avinash sad

Have you ever heard that a filmmaker became depressed because the film he directed did well? But this happened

with avinash Arun. The filmmaker told that he had dreamed of becoming a director all his life. He always wanted

to direct meaningful cinema and this happened when his Marathi directorial Qila was released. The film was

selected for the 64th Berlin Film festival where it won the Crystal Bear Award. avinash said that instead of being

happy, he was finding it difficult to handle the success. He could not digest so much love and praise. He felt as if

he had already achieved everything.

Got upset with people’s taunts

Further avinash told that five years passed and he had no one for another project. He was troubled by people’s

sweet taunts. When people used to say to him, Oh, your first film was such a success, why aren’t you making more

films, such words used to bother him. The filmmaker credits the success of Paatal Lok for finally taking him to a

good place mentally. From there avinash told that he is in a much better place and now he has a better

understanding of handling defeat and success.
