Mahesh Old Tweet Rejecting Pushpa goes Viral

After allu arjun won the National Award for "Best Actor" in "Pushpa: The Rise," a previous tweet from mahesh babu from 2019 that surdata-faced recently is making headlines. Mahesh provided an explanation of his choice to abandon a project with filmmaker sukumar in the tweet. Currently, some in the sector are claiming that Mahesh's decision cost him a National Award. Does this claim, however, have any merit?

At the time, Mahesh was originally going to work with Sukumar, who had been waiting for about two years following their successful project "Rangasthalam." sukumar finally went forward with "Pushpa," which stars Allu Arjun. Mahesh tweeted about their abandoned project during the "Pushpa" muhurat gathering. This tweet has now given rise to rumours that Mahesh may have lost out on the chance to direct a critically acclaimed movie.

But it's important to keep the larger picture in mind. Mahesh was presented a completely different idea from "Pushpa: The Rise" when sukumar made his presentation. This means that even if Mahesh and sukumar had collaborated, it would not have been for "Pushpa."  There are several examples in tollywood where celebrities have declined roles in films that went on to become huge box office hits and honorees. However, this does not imply that those actors made a serious error. In contrast, there have been instances where the films that these celebrities rejected ended up being a failure.
