 More than 2.10 crore people entered theaters across the country. In the 100-year history of the film industry, the spectacular weekend collection has created a new record. The film industry is slowly recovering after the corona pandemic. By now all the theaters are bustling with people. Trade report says that this august season is especially good for movies.
Rajinikanth, Sunny Deol, Chiranjeevi, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and hollywood director christopher Nolan's combined efforts have bounced back at the indian box office this weekend. The Producers Guild of india – Multiplex Association of india in an official statement declared august 11 to 13 as the 'busiest single weekend' post-pandemic. More than 2.10 crore people entered theaters across the country. In the 100-year history of the film industry, the spectacular weekend collection has created a new record.  Films like Jailor-Gadar 2-OMG 2-Bhola Shankar-Rocky Aur rani Ki prem Kahani-Oppenheimer across the country helped to grow the business with more than 400 crore collections. Rajinikanth's Jailer earned an all-India gross of Rs 162 crore in its 4-day weekend. It is gearing up for another big boost with the Independence Day holiday on august 15. Sunny Deol's 'Gadar' managed to collect more than Rs.150 crores within 3 days of its release. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film became a blockbuster hit collecting over Rs 80 crore in just 2 days. The reason for this is the mass theaters across the country. Jailer is expected to be one of the highest-grossing films of the year along with the upcoming holiday season. Akshay Kumar's A-rated OMG 2 opened its first weekend at Rs. 39 crores earned. The film had a slow start at the box office. But good reviews have led to a boost at the box office due to great word of mouth. Last weekend at the box office, Chiranjeevi's 'Bhola Shankar' collected Rs. 20 crores earned. All the indian heroes brought the audience to the theaters and filled the industry with new energy. The wisdom that has been missing for a long time is now visible. A large audience is responding. Early morning shows are getting a house full. Last month, christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer-Margot Robbie-Ryan Gosling starrer Greta Gerwig's Barbie raked in over Rs 100 crore at the indian box office over the weekend. There was talk that these movies, which usually don't belong to the Marvel or DC superhero franchises that usually throng the theaters in large numbers, did wonders. karan Johar's family drama Raki Aur rani Ki prem Kahani also managed to attract viewers and bring the urban masses to the theatres. This weekend is a wonderful experience for people. President Producers Guild of india Shibashish Sarkar said that people actually like superhero movies. MAI President Kamal Gianchandani said, "It was a historic weekend. It proved once again that people of india love to go to cinemas to watch great films."
