Priyanka Chopra - I simply stopped fighting..??

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has recently been very outspoken about bollywood and its less than ideal aspects. PeeCee said on a podcast with Dax Shepard during the promotion of her upcoming web series Citadel, which also stars richard Madden, that she left bollywood because she felt marginalised.

Priyanka recently discussed how poorly she was treated in the hindi film industry during a trip to mumbai to promote Citadel. She has now once more expressed her views about Bollywood.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, priyanka discussed the subject of wage equity in bollywood and claimed that despite her excellent work, she was never compensated on level with male stars. She claimed that the concept of equal pay seemed unrealistic to her.

When discussing how her hollywood agents approached amazon (Citadel is premiering on amazon Prime Video) to request equal remuneration because she is the co-lead, priyanka said this. Because of her prior experiences, the performer told her agents that she didn't think it would ever happen because she thought a female actor could never make as much money as a male actor.

Priyanka stated in regards to bollywood, "I never asked for parity." I merely begged for a tiny bit more, but even that wouldn't be granted, she continued. So I simply stopped fighting. According to reports, priyanka said that after more than 22 years in the film business, Citadel is the first production in which she earned the same salary as her male co-star. priyanka reportedly used to earn 90% less than her male co-stars.
