Telugu film producers like dil Raju, C Kalyan, and others recently held a conference to discuss the current problem in the telugu film business, where very few films, like RRR, have been successful at the box office following the COVID-19-induced lockout. The conversation focused on the audience's mindset change after the lockdown, which led to a shift toward watching movies at home on over-the-top (OTT) platforms rather than at a theatre.

The producer of the newly released film Thank You, starring naga chaitanya and Raashii Khanna, dil Raju, decreased the ticket price as a result of this meeting in an effort to calm the situation. However, according to trade analysts, the movie received negative reviews and failed to perform well at the box office. Although Thank You wasn't particularly horrible and probably would have performed better in a pre-COVID environment, the film business is facing significant issues from rising inflation and a reluctance among audiences to see all movies in theatres.

"More than the ticket price, the multiplexes' food and beverage prices are turning away customers. Every time a family watches a movie, the cost per person is at least Rs. 500. So why would anyone choose to watch a movie in a theatre when it will be available online soon? asks legendary producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj. Only six or seven movies a year, according to Bharadwaj, are eagerly awaited by moviegoers. These movies might be high-end, high-budget productions. Because they feel comfortable watching other movies at home, families will be prepared to spend their monthly budget on such movies, he notes.
