The amount spent by the
audience in the Naizam area between
february 25th and May 15th is calculated by trade commentators. The breakup was also based on the gross receipts of various films at the box office. In terms of the main films, the figures are as follows: Audiences paid Rs 40 crore each for the films
bheemla nayak and Radhe Shyam. Then there was Rs 165 crore for
rrr and Rs 75 crore for KGF2. They spent roughly Rs 20 crore on
acharya and Rs 30 crore on
sarkaru vaari paata (which is still going).
Even with the low
box office receipts for films like
dj Tillu and Ashokavanamlo
arjuna Kalyanam, the total is close to Rs 350 crore. The films
rrr and
sarkaru vaari paata were popular with the family
audience, while the rest were mostly popular with the young crowd. Due to the high ticket prices, it becomes prohibitively expensive for families to
view movies on a frequent basis.
Despite having huge heroes and heroines, not every film can draw audiences to theatres like before. Small and mid-budget films have a difficult situation. As audiences have spent large sums of money on films, which have followed one after another, they have delayed their spending even more. This is why Sarkaru Vaari Paata's
box office performance has been disappointing.
