Warner Bros. has given the go light to Matt Reeves' The Batman 2. The Caped Crusader has seen numerous adaptations on the big and small screens, with the most recent one making quite an impact early this year. After a slew of Covid-related delays, The Batman launched in march with $136 million domestically and $759 million worldwide, making it the greatest box office debut of 2022 so far. Furthermore, The Batman received overwhelmingly positive reviews from both fans and critics, with many applauding Reeves' brutal portrayal of Gotham City and Robert Pattison's portrayal of a more troubled Bruce Wayne.

There was a lot of speculation about possible sequels even before The Batman debuted. Both Reeves and Pattinson have expressed interest in a sequel, and Pattison has indicated that he has plotted out an arc for his Bruce to follow in future movies. By introducing Barry Keoghan as the famed nemesis the Joker, The Batman looked to pave the way for a sequel. WB, on the other hand, has remained tight-lipped on future chapters up until now.

The studio said The Batman 2 is absolutely moving forward at WB's CinemaCon session, which india Herald attended. Reeves will return to helm, while Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman. "I'm delighted to step back into this universe," Reeves remarked during the presentation, "but more on that at a forthcoming CinemaCon." There were no additional information provided, such as other returning players or a release date.
