Mission Impossible 7 will have a Cliffhanger Ending

According to a recent claim, the next Mission: Impossible 7 will have a cliffhanger finale. tom Cruise will reunite with christopher McQuarrie, who directed the previous two movies, for the third instalment of the long-running action franchise. The Mission: Impossible 7 release date has been set on July 14, 2023, following a number of pandemic-related shooting delays.

While Cruise has been portraying Ethan Hunt of the Impossible Mission Force on screen since 1996, the character's time in the star-studded franchise is coming to an end, with Mission: Impossible 8 slated to be his final instalment. While the original intention to shoot Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 back-to-back was eventually vetoed by Paramount, the two projects' creation is intimately intertwined. Mission: Impossible 7 is currently in post-production, but Cruise and company are holding off on releasing it until they finish filming Mission: Impossible 8, which is currently underway.

According to THR, this is due to the fact that Mission: Impossible 7 will conclude on a cliffhanger. The filming of Mission: Impossible is notoriously chaotic, with crews arriving at locations with nothing more than an outline, and Cruise, who has creative control over the franchise, wants the opportunity to change the conclusion of 7 as the storey of 8 unfolds. Furthermore, having both films running at the same time makes it harder for Paramount to place financial constraints on the series' last instalment, Mission: Impossible 8.
