Warner Bros. and HBO are planning spin-off shows based on the Batman franchise, and one of them could star Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. The Batman is finally due to premiere in theatres on march 4, 2022, following COVID-19 delays, and Warner Bros. is hoping that the Robert Pattinson-led film will kick off an altogether new Batman film franchise. The Batman, unlike many other DC projects, will not be part of the DCEU and will take place in its own universe, but that does not imply it will be a completely standalone movie.

Matt Reeves, the filmmaker of The Batman, revealed in July 2020 that he was working on a television series based on the Gotham City police department, most likely dubbed Gotham PD, that would take set a year before the events of The Batman. Then, in september 2021, it was revealed that HBO Max was developing a spin-off series based on Colin Farrell's Penguin from The Batman, which would depict the Penguin's rise to power. Warner Bros. looks determined to creating a Batman universe that spans films and streaming shows, and it appears like another one is in the works, this time centred on Batman's most famous love interest, Catwoman.

Director Matt Reeves claimed that HBO Max was exploring a Catwoman television series during a media briefing for The Batman, according to CBR. Reeves was questioned about possible spin-off projects for Catwoman and if any were being contemplated, which he indicated he has discussed with HBO Max. Reeves is passionate about expanding the world of The Batman, and he has a lot of ideas for where the character of Catwoman, alias Selina Kyle, may go.
