SAC vs Vijay: What’s is the actual deal between the father - son fiasco?
Veteran director SA chandrasekhar and his son Vijay have been locking horns against each other over the past few days. There has been so much noise and we try to decode the actual problem out of it.
SA chandrasekhar used to be the guardian angel for Vijay during his initial years. He would be the one selecting directors and hearing scripts from the directors. This kept on going for a long time until Thuppaki. After Thuppaki, Vijay started being independent as his father’s script selection seemed outdated. Vijay had then grown to be a superstar in the state.
Over the years, Vijay’s fandom has increased exponentially. With jayalalitha and Karunanthi, two stalwarts of TN politics dying in a gap of 2 years, SAC wanted to cash in on the fandom of Vijay. However, Vijay has no interest in that. Vijay has had his go with the politics during Thalaiva movie which didn’t end well.
Last june, SAC said that ‘Vijay is entering politics’. Vijay immediately revoked the news and said he has nothing to do with it. With TN local body election happening next month, VMI(Vijay Makkal Iyakkam) of Vijay was said to be contesting a few days. Vijay yet again revoked that he has nothing to do with it. The latest news is that SAC announced that VMI is dissolved. However, Vijay yet again made a counter statement saying “SAC’s VMI is revoked. Original VMI is well and truly functional”.
We aren’t sure what would be SAC’s next action but this sure has spiced up the kollywood and politics in Tamilnadu.
