Mani Ratnam who recently bankrolled Navarasa for Netflix has started a production house named ‘Rain on films’ along with a bunch of others to direct movies and webseries for OTT platforms.
Movie industry is one of the toughest industry for a newbie to land in and succeed. Getting a chance to direct is a big thing and even if they get a producer, there’s so much go behind a making of the movie that needs almost insane level of management skills and patience to provide a quality output.
OTT platforms have made it a little bit easier for new bies. To make it even more better, Maniratnam has joined hands with bunch of renowned directors to start a production house titled ‘Rain on Films’. director Shankar, Vetrimaaran, gautham Menon, Lingusamy, Sasi, Vasantha Balan, lokesh kanagaraj, balaji Sakthivel and a r murugadoss are the other directors.
The objective of the production house is to support young directors and provide them with opportunity to direct movies and series for OTT platforms. lokesh kanagaraj will be direction the first movie for the production house after completing ‘Vikram’ with Kamal Haasan.
