This is definitely a good movie and the typical popcorn flick. The story is basic and it prepares everyone for the Mortal Kombat world. We can see the characters teased in coming sequels, along with realms and different races. Even though there are some silly and stupid moments like cheesy dialogues and acting, they are compensated by many amazing and super cool moments like well-timed comedic moments, character chemistry, tons of easter eggs, and of course the action!
