The three biggest telecom providers in the nation, vodafone idea, Bharti airtel, and reliance jio, have all declared increases in their mobile pricing. These firms have raised the cellphone tariff in order to launch new programs. Following this hike, customers will bear a greater portion of the cost of cell tariffs.

As per the report published by ET, users are anticipated to bear an extra cost of Rs 47,500 crore per year following this tariff increase. Telecommunications companies have made significant investments recently to offer 5g networks to the nation's clients. customers will now need to pay an additional 71% in order to use 5G service. Nonetheless, the businesses would have recouped their expenses if they had raised average revenue per user (ARPU) by 15 to 17 percent.

5G services will cost more money to use.

Customers of reliance jio and Bharti airtel will need to spend more money than before in order to use the 5g service, according to an Economic Times story. jio subscribers will pay 46% more for 5g service than they did previously. For Bharti airtel customers, this cost is above 71 percent at the same moment.

Reliance jio customers will now have to pay Rs 349 for 2GB of data per day under the revised rate plan. customers who purchased the base pack for Rs 239 previously received 1.5GB of data every day. Users of airtel would now need to pay Rs 409 for 2.5 GB of data per day at the same time. customers used to simply have to pay Rs 239 for 1.5 GB of bandwidth.

Consumers will incur an extra expense of Rs 47,000 crore.

According to Goldman Sachs' assessment in the research, Jio's decision to raise the tariff plan is projected to result in a 17% increase in average revenue per user (ARPU). airtel has chosen to raise its mobile price plan by 11 to 21 percentat the same time. In addition, the tariff plans of idea and vodafone have been raised by 10 to 23 percent. Since december 2021, mobile telecom firms have not raised their rates.
