Yamazaki 55, the oldest liquor, was sold for the first time through a lottery system in 2020 to boost revenue and trade during the lockdown, followed by another 100 bottles in 2021 to major travel retail partners around the world, including one at a duty-free store in Istanbul airport for €488,000. Sold. This is Rs 4.14 crore in indian Rupees.
In Japan, Yamazaki 55 is the most valuable and oldest whiskey. This year, 750 ml Yamazaki 55 whiskey is being auctioned at Sotheby's, the world's most famous auction house. Because of the wine lovers worldwide, Yamazaki 55, 750 ml bottle is sold for 8,00,000 dollars at Sotheby's auction. 65.2 crores per bottle in indian rupees, so a single shot of this Yamazaki 55 liquor costs around 4.7 crores rupees.
First distilled in 1960, Yamazaki 55 is the house of Suntory's oldest single malt whisky. And it is a blend of 3 outstanding single malt whiskeys under the supervision of Shinjiro Tori, the founder of Suntory in the 1960s. It is also aged and matured in Mizunara casks.
Suntory is the country's oldest liquor company founded in 1899 in Osaka, Japan. It was started by Shinjiro Torii, and the current president is Nobuhiro Torii. Suntory Company is famous for making whiskey. Yamazaki 55 is a blend of 3 of the finest single malt whiskeys created by the company's 5th generation Blender Shinji Fukuyo and 3rd Generation President Shingo Torii. This liquor has been safely processed and sold for about 55 years.
