The chennai Corporation is currently sending property tax notices by post. In this situation, the corporation officials have explained what to do if the property tax notice is delayed. After this explanation, all the doubts of the people of chennai who pay property tax are considered to have been resolved. The chennai Corporation has now started the process of collecting the new property tax. According to this, the value of each property has been checked and notices are being sent to the property owners through the post. It is reported that more than 6 lakh property owners have been given review notices. The chennai Corporation started the process of sending these notices on 27th June.

It has been announced that the tax must be paid within 15 days of receiving the notice sent by the chennai Corporation and that an appeal can be made after an additional 15 days. Sometimes the notices sent by the chennai Corporation are received late, which has caused confusion among the people regarding the last date for payment of property tax. In this situation, the officials of the chennai Corporation have given an explanation.
In the explanation given by the officials of the chennai Corporation, the property tax notice is being sent to everyone by post and the corporation will have all the information on which date the notice was sent by the corporation and on which date the property owners received the notice.So the public should take into account the 15 days after receiving the notice and they can pay the property tax within 15 days from the date of receiving the property tax notice and they can appeal for an additional 15 days.
The officials of the chennai Corporation have also given the details of how the property owners in the chennai Corporation can pay the property tax. They are as follows:
1. Property tax can be paid by taking a cheque or demand draft in the name of the chennai Corporation Revenue Officer.
2. Pay the tax through debit and credit cards.
3. Property tax can be paid through the website www.chennaicorporation.gov.in without any charges.
4. Similarly arrangements have been made in some banks to collect property tax of chennai Corporation.
5. Property tax payment has also been facilitated through mobile operations 'Paytm' and 'Namma Chennai'.
6. Property tax can also be paid through Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS).
7. Property tax payment facilities are arranged at all e-service centers in Chennai.
