Coconut farmers are in a state of shock as the purchase price of coconut has dropped to Rs10. They are at the peak of frustration as prices have fallen far worse than during the curfew. The 'season' for coconut is summer. During the summer peak season, coconut production is also plentiful. Coconut harvest is highest in april and May every year. Although prices are usually lower due to high supply, the current decline in prices has been a major disappointment.
The number of traders who bought, bought a coconut, was 12 - 14 rupees. At present, lowering the price to 10 rupees is causing dissatisfaction among farmers. Coconut is a perennial crop that, due to declining prices, cannot be immediately switched to another crop.
 Coconut, which was selling for less than 16-18 rupees even during the Corona peak, has fallen sharply this year. Farmers said that traders have formed a syndicate to reduce the price of coconut, hoping to see lower profits during the corona period in a few months.
