Cryptocurrency banned from April 1!!
The Thai government has announced a ban on cryptocurrency payments from april 1.
The Thai government has issued rules banning payments for goods and services in wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital currencies from april 1, the market regulator said.
The move comes in the wake of discussions between the Securities and Exchange Commission of india (SEC) and the Federal Reserve bank of thailand (BOT) on the need to regulate trading on wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital currencies as the country's financial stability and the overall economy will be affected, the SEC said in a statement.
The SEC has also announced that wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital currency trading operators providing services for wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital currencies will have to comply with the new rules within 30 days from april 1, effective from this date.
The Central bank of thailand (BOT) has repeatedly stated that it does not support cryptocurrencies as payments.
It has also announced that it will hold a presentation on the regulatory guidelines for banks' wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital asset business after march 24.
