Airtel estimates that interest payments will be reduced by at least Rs 3,400 crore.

New Delhi: airtel on monday lost Rs 15,519 crore due to the telecom ministry. The stock fell 3 per cent to Rs 661.30 today. The setback was the repayment of Rs 15,519 crore owed to the telecom ministry for spectrum acquired in 2014.

In 2014, airtel bought 128.4 MHz of spectrum, including Telenor spectrum, for Rs 19,051 crore 2014. This amount was to be paid between the financial year 2026-27 and the financial year 2031-32.

Airtel estimates that interest payments will be reduced by at least Rs 3,400 crore. But the foreclosure led to selling pressure from investors.

Shares of airtel fell to Rs 668 this afternoon.

Shares of airtel traded at Rs 781.90 on november 24. On december 21, 2020, the price was Rs 471.50.

However, airtel shares are currently trading at a 52-week high of 14.57 per cent and a 52-week low of 41.68 per cent.

With its soaring high tariffs, airtel swoop down comes as a shock to investors, but this swooping down has to be noted. High competition prevails in technology and this fall down is just unexpected, but will airtel rise again is the question of the customers. Because further tariff change can never be taken in.
