Some issues with the indian wedding system...?

Marriage data-faces numerous social difficulties even though it is regarded as a sacred union of lifetime companionship. such as gender inequality, child marriage, and the dowry system.

The dower system has been a social ill for many years. According to this custom, the bride's family is expected to provide the groom's side with money, jewelry, a car, or other goods. This practice leads to horrible crimes like mental harassment, dowry death, and social banishment. Even with regulations like the Dowry Prohibition Act in effect, society attitude has not changed.

In India, the marriage of minor children during their childhood is a significant social issue. Children are not only denied an education, but their physical and mental development is also negatively impacted. Young girls who married also have to deal with the challenges of parenthood. Due to social pressure, poverty, and a lack of understanding, this practice persists in rural areas despite the Child marriage Prevention Act's rigorous regulations.

In addition, caste and religious inequality are also blatantly evident during the wedding ceremony. Although intercaste marriage is becoming more common than it was in the past, there is still opposition to it, which fuels animosity across communities. Social inequality is encouraged by the propensity for marriage between members of higher castes and classes. However, the state of the economy also has an impact on marriage since poor families frequently find it intolerable to pay the dowry.
