If it is a cesarean delivery, she should not go on a long journey for at least a month. The stitches after the operation are raw and may need regular dressings. Stitches may come out during long journeys. Therefore, a new mother is advised on bed rest for one month.
After the birth of the baby, if the new mother and baby are going to travel, then first consult a doctor. Go for the journey only after making sure that both the mother and the baby are healthy for the journey.
After the birth of the child, take care of the diet of the mother as well as the baby. The new mother should eat nutritious and light food. Take home-cooked food with you on the journey and eat less outside. If there is some food outside, then avoid eating junk food etc.
During the journey, the new mother's sleep should be taken care of. The mother needs rest after delivery.
