Earlier days of parenthood and changing patterns of lifestyle!!!

Parenthood is perhaps the most important responsibility that one undertakes in this life. Yet many young couples find themselves to be parents without much preparation or training. We give more thought to which college or profession to enter, even a four to six-year-old is now being tutored on how to give his school admission interview! A young couple however enters parenthood without any thought or expertise about the task they have undertaken.
In our indian traditional families, the young mother could fall back on the help and advice of mothers, grandmothers, and aunts.
With changing patterns of lifestyle-especially in urban india - this family pattern is breaking up. In addition, most families are going for a planned and limited number of children and hence each pregnancy becomes a precious one. Family life is transforming, families become smaller now, its due to the growth of single-parent and the drop in infertility. At the same time family structures have transformed now, so has the role of mothers in the workplace – and in the home has to balance the life accordingly. women getting married only at the age of 27 now. Families today are much more knowledgeable and career-oriented. Though, all the lifestyle differences have given rise to a range of mental health complications.
