Perhaps with the winter season approaching, it is indeed difficult to get outside the cozy blankets and exercise. This is also the time when we most likely feel lazy and tired, making it difficult to stay alert. However, if you are experiencing lethargy and seeking ways to keep energized during the winter months, yoga is an ideal option. Regular yoga can help the body defend itself against seasonal ailments such as cold. It also stimulates the flow of lymphatic fluid, which transports immune cells throughout the body.

Meanwhile yoga can deal with the stiffness and joint pain that come with the winter season. It improves flexibility and relieves tension, reducing winter related aches. Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Inhale deeply as you raise your arms aloft, palms facing each other. Exhale, bend your knees and drop your hips as if sitting in an imaginary chair. Keep your spine straight and use your core muscles. Ensure that your knees are directly over your ankles, transferring your weight evenly between your feet.

Popular yoga asanas and breathing exercises alleviate winter fatigue and boost energy levels. They rejuvenate the body, keeping you active and invigorated during the colder months.
