Three more people have been diagnosed with monkeypox in the national capital, Delhi. Adding to this, the number of monkeypox cases in the capital rose to 12. According to reports, five patients have been admitted to the LNJP hospital with monkey fever. Earlier, a 30-year-old Nigerian woman was confirmed to be infected. The woman was admitted to a government hospital and treated. According to sources, apart from the five patients who were admitted to the hospital, none of the patients had a case of mumps. Monkeypox is a viral disease that can be transmitted to humans through close contact with an infected person or animal. The disease is also spread through bodily fluids or respiratory droplets.
Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, blisters all over the body, sore throat, cough, swollen lymph nodes, headache, fatigue, eye pain or blurred vision, shortness of breath, chest pain, difficulty breathing, convulsions, and pelvic pain. If you have any of these symptoms, you have to seek medical advice immediately.The disease is also spread through sexual activity. In infected people, the rash appears as pimples or blisters on the data-face, inside the mouth, and other parts of the body, such as the hands, feet, chest, genitals, or anus. In this case, it lasts for 2-4 weeks.
