WHO states Monkeypox a Global health Emergency?...

WHO has also expressed fears that this disease may spread to other countries of the world as well. The WHO believes that the risk of monkeypox is common worldwide, but its risk is highest in Europe. There is also a danger that it can spread all over the world. Many countries have reported that the monkeypox virus has spread rapidly in them.     

What is the monkeypox virus?

Monkeypox virus comes from the family of orthopoxviruses. This also includes the variola virus. It is noteworthy that the Variola virus causes smallpox or smallpox disease, the Vaccinia virus of the same family is used in the smallpox vaccine. Smallpox was eliminated from the world by the vaccine in 1980.


Symptoms of Monkeypox

According to Dr Hans Kluge, director of the UN health Agency in the european region, usually in this disease, symptoms such as fever, skin rash and swollen lymph nodes are seen. Many times there are a pain in the body and boils come out on the skin. There are also red spots on the body. In most cases, infected patients recover without any treatment. So WHO expressed about this disease as Global health emergency.
