BMC teaches free yoga to Mumbaiwalas!!
BMC is looking for trainers to organize free yoga classes across 24 locations to help the people of mumbai boost their immunity. Preventive Healthcare- This is the term that the Municipal Corporation of mumbai is using to promote its initiative to teach yoga for free to the people living in the city. Officials believe that these yoga classes will help Mumbaikars to fight not only against Kovid-19 but also against diseases like diabetes and high BP.
To fulfill its ambitious objective of boosting immunity of the people of mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to organize yoga classes at 24 locations across the city. And for this trainers are being sought. yoga will be taught in each administrative ward and these places will be known as Shiv yoga Kendra.
BMC's acting health officer Mangala Gomare told ThePrint that these classes would be taken five days a week at school, marriage hall, ward office or any open public place. He said, 'There will be 30 people in a batch. To register, BMC will either provide an email ID or an app will be created for this. Once we have a certain number of learners, then the ward level officer will decide the place and time for these classes.
Gomare says, 'We have all seen how people were dealing with problems during the pandemic. When disasters like these come, we realize how important it is to take preventive care or preventive care to protect ourselves from diseases. mumbai was one of the worst affected indian cities by the Kovid-19 pandemic.
Gomare said, “At present, non-communicable diseases including diabetes, high bp are also increasing rapidly. To avoid these diseases, ultimately immunity comes in handy. Keeping this in view, we thought why not focus on the preventive aspect before the disease occurs and then we decided to move towards prevention health care.
