According to the data updated by the Union health Ministry at 8 am on sunday, 4,270 new cases have been found across the country in the last 24 hours, including 1,544 from kerala alone and 1,357 from Maharashtra. Due to increasing cases, the daily infection rate has also increased to more than one percent (1.03 percent) after 34 days. Earlier, the daily infection rate was 1.07 percent on May 1.

According to the information shared by the Union health Ministry, the weekly infection rate in the country is 0.84 percent. There have been 15 deaths during this period, out of which 13 deaths are from kerala alone. Active cases have also increased by 1,636 to 24,052 which is 0.06 per cent of the total cases. The recovery rate of patients is 98.73 percent and the death rate remains at 1.22 percent. A total of 194.01 crore doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine have also been administered so far.
