World Immunisation week - april 24 - 30!!!

Every year in the last week of april (24 to 30 April) 'World Immunization Week' is celebrated. During this, people are told about the role and importance of vaccines to protect them from diseases. Apart from this, various programs are also organized to eliminate the hesitation about the vaccine among the people.

This whole week the World health Organization (WHO) educates people about the importance of vaccination. WHO tells the importance of vaccine among people through different programs and encourages them to be vaccinated.

How did it start?

Before 2012, the activities of Vaccination Week were celebrated on different dates in different regions of the world. Then in May 2012, the World health Assembly during its meeting decided to observe World Immunization Week. That is, for the first time in 2012, Vaccination Week was celebrated simultaneously in which more than 180 countries around the world participated.

Every year a special theme is also chosen for World Immunization Week. This year the theme is 'Long Life for All'. Every year lakhs and crores of lives are saved through vaccination. Despite success around the world, about 20 million children do not get the vaccine and in the absence of it, they lose their lives. In such a situation, this theme will prove to be helpful in spreading more awareness about the vaccine among the people.
