According to new research done recently, individuals suffering from kidney disease are at a higher risk of getting cancer. Research results show that people who have been suffering from kidney disease for a long time are also at higher risk of getting cancer.


The results of the research have been published in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases. Abhijat Kitchlew of the university of Toronto is a co-author of this research report. people who have mild kidney disease and who have had a kidney transplant are more likely to develop cancer.


Data of 58,82,388 people were analyzed during the research. These were people who were suffering from kidney disease or were on dialysis or had a kidney transplant.

Kitchloo further said people who have kidney disease are at a higher risk of death due to cancer. Especially they get urologic cancer, colon cancer, or multiple myeloma. He said that it is necessary to make a strategy for cancer screening in people suffering from kidney disease for a long time.
