UPSC Prelims 2026: Exam Hall Rules and Essential Updates Every Aspirant Must Know
- Exam Date: 24–25 May 2026 (expected schedule varies by paper)
- Morning shift usually starts around 9:30 AM
- Candidates must report by 8:30–9:00 AM
- Gate closes strictly 30 minutes before exam start — no entry after that
- Printed e-Admit Card (mandatory, preferably 2 copies)
- Original photo ID proof (Aadhaar / PAN / Voter ID / Passport / Driving Licence)
- Passport-data-size photographs (if mentioned on admit card)
- Black ballpoint pens (2 recommended)
- Admit card

- Transparent water bottle (if allowed at centre)
- Simple analog watch (in some centres)
- Mobile phones (even switched off)

- Avoid shoes with metal parts or heavy clothing
