Selection Process

The selection for Excise and Taxation Inspector includes the following stages:

Written Examination – Candidates will sit for an offline written test covering key subjects.

Part A: punjabi language paper (matric level) — qualifying only.

Part B: Main written paper on relevant subjects — merit is based on Part B marks.

A negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer is applied in the main paper.

Document Verification & Counseling – Candidates who clear the written exam will be shortlisted for further verification.

There is no interview stage in this recruitment.

Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates for the Excise and Taxation Inspector post will receive a monthly salary approximately ₹35,400 under Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with additional allowances as per government rules.
