Shock to the medical students returned from Ukraine...

Due to the outbreak of the Russian-Ukraine War, thousands of medical students returned to India. Due to missing the course, these students are demanding that they should be given admission in the universities and medical colleges of India. This matter has reached the supreme Court. Now the central government has said in the supreme court that these students cannot be given admission in colleges of India. The central government has said that the National Medical Commission Act does not allow such admission.

The affidavit has been submitted by the central government during the hearing of the case in the supreme Court. In the affidavit filed by the Secretary of the Ministry of health in the supreme court, it has been said that giving such exemption will affect the standard of medical education in the country. In fact, medical students, who were forced to come to india in a hurry, had filed a petition in the supreme court and sought their intervention in the matter.

Government told the reason for not giving admission in court

The central government has also said that these medical students went to study abroad, there are two reasons for this. First- their ranking in NEET was poor, second- medical education is very cheap in countries like Ukraine. In such a situation, it will not be right to give admission in medical colleges to students with poor merit. Apart from this, these students will also not be able to pay the fees of medical colleges in India.

In fact, the Parliamentary Committee on External Affairs of the lok sabha had suggested to the Ministry of health in one of its reports that admission should be given to these students as a one-time exception. On the basis of this report, a petition has been filed in the supreme Court.
