RM Kathiresan has been named Vice Chancellor of annamalai university by governor RN Ravi. RN Ravi, governor of tamil Nadu and Chancellor of chidambaram annamalai university, has named RM Kathiresan as Vice-Chancellor of the university, according to a news release from the house of Governors. From the date of his inauguration, he will serve for three years.
Kathiresan has a Ph.D. in Science and has worked for the Commonwealth on a one-year postgraduate research project in the United Kingdom. He has 36 years of experience in education and has served as the director of annamalai University's Center for Research and Development as well as the Head of the University's Department of Agriculture. Kathiresan, who has a lot of research expertise, has written 31 papers so far. He has presented 30 papers at international conferences and has organized a number of international educational and research events. He has written two books and presented 29 research papers at national conferences.
He's also working on 14 research projects worth Rs 16.11 crore. Served as a mentor to ten PhD students. In 2001, he was honoured by the british Crop Protection Council, in 1997 by the Commonwealth Senior Academy Staff Award, and in 2018 by the Haritpuraskar Award. He has worked as a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome and as a member of the National Biodiversity Commission's Expert Committee. Katherine has worked in university administration for 8 years and has travelled to 18 countries for academic and research work, including Singapore, China, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
