Reportedly amid a showdown between congress and bharatiya janata party (BJP) on parliament premises over the Ambedkar row, bjp mp pratap chandra sarangi reportedly sustained head injuries. Sarangi alleged that Congress’ rahul gandhi pushed an mp, who fell on him, resulting in his wounds. Another bjp mp, mukesh Rajput, also suffered head injuries during the melee that ensued when the protecting india bloc and the bjp MPs came data-face to data-face in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament.

When following the incident, a bjp mp told rahul gandhi, “Have you no shame? Look what you’ve done. You’ve pushed him." To this, rahul gandhi said, “He pushed me." This prompted bjp leaders to say “gundagardi karte ho (You are being a bully)". Meanwhile, the two bjp MPs were admitted to Delhi’s ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, and top ministers and political leaders, including piyush goyal and Prahlad Joshi, rushed to meet the lawmaker.

Moreover RML Hospital Medical Superintendent ajay Shukla said that both of the leaders suffered head injuries and have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Shukla also said that they are trying to stabilise both (Pratap Sarangi and mukesh Rajput). He added “Tests will be done. Symptomatic treatment has begun. Since both of them suffered head injuries, they were admitted to the ICU. Pratap Sarangi was experiencing heavy bleeding and he had suffered a deep cut. So, he had to be stitched up. His evaluation is in progress. mukesh Rajput had fallen unconscious. Right now, he is conscious but he is dizzy and anxious. His bp had shot up". Later, PM Modi dialled the two injured MPs and inquired about their health.
