World Book Day was created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation to honour the pleasure of leisure reading. Why not? One hundred nations celebrate World Book Day.Children who read for pleasure on a regular basis outperform their non-reading peers in test scores, vocabulary growth, general knowledge, and cultural awareness. Reading is a passport to this world and a lot of other worlds, whether you read classic paperbound books or use your Kindle, iPad, or other device.
