India's popular cooking reality show 'MasterChef india 7' has finally got its winner. Nayanjyoti Saikia from assam emerged as the winner of the show after overcoming a tough cooking challenge for almost 3 months. Whereas, Santa Sarmah was declared the first runner-up and Suvarna Bagul as the second runner-up.
Nayanjyoti Saikia won the hearts of people not only with her cooking skills but also with her simplicity and honesty, which played a major role in making her the winner of the show. The final judging of the show was done by renowned chef and tv personality sanjeev Kapoor. In the finale, the contestants had to prepare three dishes, which should impress the judges with taste and presentation as well as innovation. Nayanjyoti, who hails from a small village in Tinsukia, assam, managed to impress the judges with his dishes and went on to win the show's winner's trophy along with a prize money of Rs 25 lakh.
After her win, Nayanjyoti Saikia told 'India Today', “I had a simple dream and that was to cook on 'MasterChef India', but now I feel that all my goals in life have come true. Not only did I go on MasterChef, but I also got the apron and winning this intense food competition feels unreal! I had my doubts, but all the three judges motivated us a lot, especially Chef Vikas Khanna, who has helped me a lot since the day of the audition. The biggest thing is that my father is the happiest of them all. He was against watching me cook, but today's achievement is worth it."
In fact, Nayanjyoti's father initially opposed his son's decision to become a chef, but when judges Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar visited Nayanjyoti's house, his father became a little more convinced of Nayanjyoti and her dreams.
Vikas Khanna said about Nayanjyoti in the same india Today report, “I still remember the timid Nayanjyoti from Tinsukia, whom I went to meet at her house. I was very impressed with his vision and creativity and also how he can turn food into art. He inspired me through his social media posts and hence I decided that he is the right fit for 'MasterChef India'."
Talking about the seventh season of 'MasterChef India', it premiered on 'Sony Entertainment Television' on 2 january 2023, in which 36 contestants participated.
