J&K:Night curfew imposed-two months?...
The measure was taken in light of the potential for drone smuggling of weapons and cross-data-border infiltration in the current dreary weather. To strengthen BSF men's grip over the area, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district on tuesday imposed a nighttime curfew within a 1-kilometre radius of the international data-border.The measure was taken in reaction to the possibility of drone-mediated cross-data-border infiltration and weapon smuggling in the current chilly weather, according to a formal order issued by district magistrate Anuradha Gupta. The order states that between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., civilian movement is forbidden in the Samba district up to one kilometre from the international Border (IB).The district administration believes it is crucial to restrict people's movement in data-border regions so that security officials can better control the area, according to the directive. No individual or group of individuals was to move within one kilometre of the international data-border in the Samba district between 2100 and 6 am, according to the directive. It continued that in order to maintain seamless operation, enhance supervision by BSF officials, and deter criminal activity close to data-border areas, the management of people's mobility has become important, particularly near the international boundary.Accordingly, the DM stated that the individual or persons are required to present their respective ID cards to BSF and police officials in the event that the movement is necessary. Anyone found to be breaking the aforementioned instruction will be subject to legal consequences. Due to the impossibility of individual service, the order is being issued ex parte. This order is effective immediately and remains in effect for a period of two months from the date it was granted unless earlier withdrawn or cancelled.
