Children's Day was first celebrated in india in the year 1959. This event took place on the occasion of the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru , the first prime minister of India. The biggest reason for this was that Pandit Nehru was very fond of children. He also worked in the interest of children as the Prime Minister.
