In mumbai on Sunday, 30 winners of Born to Shine, a special initiative launched by Zee Entertainment and Give india as part of their corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), were felicitated. These girls of 5 to 15 years, selected from 8 cities of the country, were awarded a scholarship of Rs 4 lakh and mentoring for thirty months.
In the last one year, more than 5,000 girls associated with the arts sector across the country had applied for this honor. A special jury of 5 veterans selected the last 30 talented girls out of these after different rounds.Who are the veterans included in the jury?The Special Jury for Born to Shine includes Punit Goenka, Managing Director, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Zarina Screwvala, (Managing Trustee & Director, Swadesh Foundation), Dr. bindu Subramaniam (Co-Founder CEO, Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts), Samara mahindra (Founder CEO, CARER), Rupak Mehta, (Founder, Brahmanad Cultural Society) were included.Born to shine initiative is very uniqueThere are many scholarship programs in the country to encourage talents in the fields of science, mathematics and sports.
