Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which is celebrated on 7th february in America. Its Strategic Leadership Council is carried out every year by the plans of NBHAAD. The purpose of celebrating this day is to increase education, testing, community participation, and treatment-related to hiv / aids among black communities.
National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day was celebrated in 1999, it was marked as a grassroots education effort to raise awareness of hiv and aids prevention, care, and treatment in black communities.
It is mainly celebrated in America, the purpose of celebrating this day is to bring awareness among people about hiv and to encourage them to undergo screening. Despite overall progress in reducing hiv infection in the United States, hiv remains a long-standing disease and black or African American people are more prone to new hiv infections than other races. According to CDC estimates Black people made up 13% of the US population but in 2019 there were 40% of people with HIV.In such a situation, National Black hiv / aids Awareness Day is celebrated every year in America to prevent the spread of such disease. On the other hand, on a global scale, World aids Day is celebrated every year on 1 december to raise awareness of the aids epidemic due to the spread of hiv infection. government and health officials, NGOs, and people around the world often observe this day, along with education on aids prevention and control.
