The Covid epidemic has created panic all over the world. Especially its second wave proved to be particularly fatal in India, this has also been confirmed by the Economic Survey. It is recorded in the survey that the number of Covid cases on May 1, 2021, was above four lakhs and during that time about 4400 deaths were recorded every day.


According to the WHO data used in the survey, in 2021, the maximum number of cases of Covid came from march to june, while the highest number of deaths occurred between May and june 2021.


The government also says that adequate precautions were taken to prevent infection which includes included complete and part lockdown, vaccination drive, making people aware of Covid appropriate behavior. Different types of containment zones were also marked. Many quarantine facilities were made. The government also says that with the changing situation, the ways to overcome it also changed. The free test was arranged in all government institutions. Rapid Antigen Test was used for early detection of the disease.

Help was taken from the Railways, air Force, and Navy to meet the shortage of oxygen. To meet the demand for oxygen in the second wave of Covid, the government also took help from Railways, air Force, the Navy, and heavy industries. Emphasizing vaccination, WHO has been quoted in the survey that India's vaccination program is one of the largest vaccination programs in the world.
