Jan 30 is the death anniversary of mahatma gandhi and it is such an occurrence when we once again remember his contribution to the freedom of the country. Apart from january 30, Martyr's Day is also celebrated on 23 March. Let us tell you that every year on these dates Martyr's Day is celebrated in india and what are the reasons behind it-

Jan 30: During the year 1948 30th Jan, mahatma gandhi was assassinated at Birla House, Nathuram Godse fired on Gandhi's chest and stomach with three bullets. On 30 january in memory of mahatma gandhi, we honor it as Martyr's day.  According to the instructions of the Central government, a 2-minute silence is also observed on 30 january in all the states and union territories. On this day various government dignitaries including the President, Vice President, and prime minister visit Gandhi's Samadhi at raj Ghat and lay wreaths remembering him.


March 23: Everyone knows that many brave sons sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru are also included in such brave sons. Raising the voice against british rule, he threw bombs in the Central Assembly. After which he was arrested and sentenced to death. This hanging was given on the day of 23 march itself. Since then this day is remembered as Martyr's Day.

21 October: On the day of 1959, Central police Force personnel were martyred in an ambush of the Chinese army in Ladakh. For this reason, Martyr's Day is celebrated by the police on 21st October.


November 17: On november 17, Martyr's Day is celebrated in odisha in the memory of Lala Lajpat Rai.


19 November: Apart from this, Martyr's Day is also celebrated on november 19, the birthday of rani Laxmibai.
